The joint collaboration with my long-time friend, the photographer Luca Bellumore, began in 2009 and ended in 2010. It arose from the shared need to investigate the many contradictions of everyday life from which to draw ideas for entering another dimension, of art, that was necessary to change “one-way directions”.
‘Prolegomeni’ continues the ‘Differenziare Differire’ series, with the intention of investigating situations that revolve around the themes of homologation and loss of identity, the constant search for one’s own space-time in which to live and the reappropriation of what is lost or forgotten in the race for social emancipation. Man, domestic interiors and the urban landscape are closely related to each other; there is a refined solitude. Insecurity at work, competition opposed to play recur in the images with symbolic elements such as balloons, shirts and paper airplanes. We wanted to make a contemporary “odyssey” visible and at the same time trigger an opposite reaction, an escape route: in practice, it is having to be that makes being emerge.
